Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of KPJT on immunologic control function, the various immune responses such as the transformation of lymphocyte, the production of nitric oxide (NO), the population of immune cells in spleen of BALB/C mouse, the phagocytic index K and the hemagglutinin titer and hemolysin titer were studied.
The results were obtained as follows
1. The transformation of lymphocyte was increased significantly in all concentration of KPJT treated group as compared with negative control.
2. The production of nitric oxide was increased in KPJT & LPS treated group as compared with negative and positive control and increased significantly as compared with negative control.
3. The phagocytic index K was not changed significantly in KPJT pretreated group as compared with control.
4. In FACS analysis, the population of helper T cell and macrophage were increased significantly in KPJT treated group as compared with normal.
5. The hemagglutinin titer and hemolysin titer were increased significantly in KPJT treated group as compared with control.
From the above results it was concluded that KPJT could be used on the prevention and treatment of disease induced by depression of immunologic function.
